Nyra Hill, LCSW received her degree at UNC-CH and has more than thirty years of experience working with adolescents, adults, couples and groups.

Skillful facilitation of the therapeutic process, humor and commitment to develop and optimize human potential characterize Nyra’s work. She focuses on teaching and empowering individuals to embrace change as a necessary element of growth. Her style is collaborative and interactive.

She utilizes brief and ongoing, problem-focused approaches with individuals and couples experiencing life transitions, stress, chronic relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, grief, and codependency issues. She has special expertise in the areas of personal growth, relationship enhancement, and group therapy.

Nyra values working with diverse populations and is sensitive to how issues involving race, culture, and sexual orientation impact on emotional health.

She provides Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for individuals and facilitates a DBT skills training group. The DBT model enables clients to gain skills on managing strong emotion, surviving crises and improving satisfaction in interpersonal relationships at home and at work.

Additionally, she offers consulting to small organizations and provides clinical supervision.
