Griff Gilbert, LCSW, LCAS has been providing psychotherapy services for over 20 years.

He completed his graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds two professional practice licenses in NC: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). Griff has extensive post-graduate training in trauma, substance use disorders and addictions. He enjoys working with college age students and adults through the lifespan on issues that include but are not limited to: anxiety and depression, grief and loss, human sexuality, men and women and LGBTQi issues, personality disorders and interpersonal and relational issues.

Griff generally practices through a person-centered, solutions-focused lens with an emphasis on how our early experiences shape our world view. He is very interested in helping people in the search for purpose and meaning. Although Griff has training in many different therapeutic modalities and techniques, his therapy style is engaging, direct, respectful and warm. Many patients report that Griff has helped them to peel back the layers of their lives to better understand complex patterns of behavior. He is committed to working with clients as they delve into exploring areas of life which may be frightening, stressful and painful and can contribute to an overall sense of dissatisfaction. Griff believes we all ultimately hold the answers we seek and hopes to be able to help clients find their own.

Griff is in network with BCBS and Aetna insurance panels and also accepts private paying clients.
